This machine features:

• Stainless steel box around main steel plate.
• Switch to turn machine on and off. VFD Control box with variable speed motors.
• Comes with rubber feet on the bottom of frame for easy use on a bench or table.

Can I use the diamond flat lap for both polishing stones and glass work?

• Yes, our diamond flat laps are suitable for shaping and polishing stones while also suitable for glass work.

Will I need the thread option?

• If you are going to use the diamond flat lap for glass work than, yes you need the option for thread.
• We make a 12" VAR lap with a thread in the centre of the base plate to make the machine compatible with dome and cone attachments.
• We sell the dome and cones for glass work separately.

Does the diamond flat lap come with a water tank?

• Yes, only the horizontal diamond flat laps do come with a water tank and tank stand.
• The vertical lap is water fed by a garden hose not a water tank.

Do I get any laps or polish pads when I make a purchase?

• Unfortunately diamond flat laps do not come with any laps or polish pads, you will need to purchase any laps or polish pads separately.
• The base plate is steel and suitable with all full face magnetic backed laps.
• Also leather and felt polishing pads are also available for purchase separately.

Laps to go with the diamond flat lap.

• Hard Diamond Lap Grits available: 46, 80, 100, 240, 320, 600, 1200, 3000. $38 each for 8 inch - $65 each for 12 inch.
• Resin diamond soft lap grits available: 220, 325, 600, 1200, 3000, 8000, 14000, 50000. $110 each for 8 inch - $175 each for 12 inch.
• 18 inch flat lap has four grits available in the diamond hard laps - 80, 240, 400, 600 and in the resin soft laps the grits available are the same as the 8 and 12 inch.

What comes in the set of laps?

• 8" and 12" set includes: Diamond Laps: 80, 240, 600, 1200, 3000 + Felt pad.
• 18" set includes:Diamond Laps: 80, 240, 400, 600 + Resin Laps: 1200 and 3000 + Felt pad.

Available in:

• 8" is available in horizontal or vertical and can have a standard speed motor or variable speed motor.
• 12" is horizontal - standard speed or variable speed motor available.
• 18" is horizontal and variable speed. This model is free standing on a frame and not a bench mounted design.

How big is the motor on the diamond flat laps?

• The size of the motor is 1/2 HP.

Where are the diamond flat laps made?

• All of our machinery is hand crafted in Queensland, Australia.

Does this machine come with a warranty?

• Yes, we offer a 12 month warranty on all of our hand-crafted lapidary machines.
