Brecciated Dragonstone

Also known as 'Dragon Blood Stone', is unmistakable by its unique appearance of its broken fragments cemented together. It is essentially jasper that has been fractured and than fussed together with silica-rich minerals, creating this visually unique pattern.

What is it made up of?

• It is typically a breccia of 'chert' (microcrystalline quartz) with inclusions of 'fuchsite' (a green chromium-rich mica) and 'ferruginous material' (iron oxides). The red coloration comes from the iron oxides, often found as bleds or bands within the green chert matrix.

Colour range:

• Often features green, earthy tones and red.

Mohs hardness scale:

• 6.5 - 7

Where is it found?

• It is found in a number of places around the world including Brazil, Australia, Egypt, Russia, India, US and Madagascar.

• Just like it's name, brecciated dragonstone gives their holder determination, strength, integrity and motivation. Furthermore, it's associated with a warrior's spirit and the tenacity to overcome any obstacle, which then also gives it a reputation for drawing wealth and good luck.
