Expander Drum

• Expander Drums are a great alternative for people who have a set up with limited space or wheel options.
• Angles expansion slots around the rim allow the drum to expand which then holds the sanding belt firmly in place.

Do I need any thing when the expander drum wheel?

• Yes, you do! The expander drum needs to be paired with a resin diamond or silicon carbide belt which matches the size of the drum.
• Resin diamond or silicon carbide belts can be purchased separately through our website.

Are the belts easy to change?

• Yes, they are. Belts can be easily changed by slipping off the old one and then sliding on the new.
• Please be aware, that belts may be a little tight to interchange when new but will become easier as they wear in.

What is the recommended maximum RPM for the expander drum wheel?

• The recommended maximum RPM for the expander drum wheel is 1700.

What is the arbor size?

• The arbor size of the expander drum wheel is 1” . However, the expander drum wheels are supplied with bushes to fit 3/4”, 5/8” and 1/2” arbors.

Can I make cabochons with the expander drum wheel?

• Yes, you can. The flexible surface of the drum provides a contour which makes it suitable for doing cabochons.

CAUTION: Do not run the drum without a belt in place as it may cause damage to the rubber rim. Always place your expander drum on your machine with the slots facing towards you.
