Although many people think Amazonite is found in the Amazon River, it's not actually from there at all. However, it's name is tied to myths of the Amazonian warriors. Historically known to be used for amulets jewelry and even tombs.

• Amazonite is a striking gemstone. With it's distinctive blue and green colour. Interestingly, while it is names after the 'Amazon River', no actual deposits of amazonite has been find there.

• 6 - 6.5

Where is it found?

• Amazonite is found in Brazil, Russia, Madagascar, China and US.

Amazonite meaning:

• Also known as 'Stone of courage' or 'Stone of Truth'. It is believed to empower self-expression, personal truth and also communication. Very helpful during stressful times as it is believed to help soothe and calm along with helping overcome judgement and fear.
