Leather is approx 3mm thick, with a 6mm foam sponge and then magnetic backing plate.
Remember to only ever use one type of polishing compound per leather pad!

- Leather is approx 3mm thick, with a 6mm foam sponge and then magnetic backing plate.
- Leather polishing pads are the perfect option for polishing general gems and stones.
- The leather pad needs to be paired with a polishing compound.
- Some options include: Cerium oxide, Tin Oxide, Aluminium oxide, diamond paste, diamond dust or diamond spray.
- If using any of the oxide powders, add a little bit of water to a little bit of powder and smear a small amount onto the pad. Be sure not to over-saturate the pad with the compound. Use a water spray bottle to damp the pad but not wet it.
- Remember to only ever use one type of polishing compound per leather pad!
